Project Description
This exciting and challenging project will provide a world leading pilot of UK autonomous vehicle capability at a UNESCO heritage site with resultant global interest. The project will help UK companies to introduce autonomous vehicle technology into their products and services offered worldwide.
The pilot is expected to run for six months beginning in 2022.
OBJECTIVES
The primary objective is to deliver a scheduled passenger service with Stagecoach East Scotland, carrying up to 10,000 passengers per week along a 28-mile route between Edinburgh and Fife, across the Forth Road Bridge.
The project will demonstrate and prove the technology needed for safe automated drive systems, enabling the Partners to run autonomous vehicles on the public highway with other traffic.
Importantly, we will measure passenger experience to inform the roll out of the future autonomous vehicle technology and services.
THE CAVFORTH BUS
Fusion Processing has developed state-of-the-art technology to autonomise vehicles and improve the safety of vulnerable road users.
TEAM WORK
